Description

A random idea of mine, brought to life once again.
In this case, it's a piece of fanart/fanfiction that uses a canon story as a springboard. Since I'm sure some of you will be confused as to what's going on in the picture, I'll provide some background information before the description.

In the 7-part Doctor Who serial, Evil of the Daleks (a CGI reconstruction of the serial is here: fav.me/dbfy886 ), the Second Doctor and his companion Jamie are captured by the Daleks – who force the Doctor to find the 'Human Factor' (the essence of what distinguished humans from other species) to make the Daleks more deadly.
In reality, they intended to use what the Doctor had learned to identify the 'Dalek Factor' and spread it throughout human history on Earth.

When the Doctor injected three Daleks with the Human Factor, they initially were like children although the Doctor stated that they would 'grow up' within a few hours – naming the trio of humanised Daleks Alpha, Beta and Omega (complete with putting the Greek symbol on their dome).

After later tricking the Dalek Emperor into injecting the human factor into other Daleks, a mass civil war broke out between the Dalek factions – which sadly resulted in the near complete destruction of the humanised Daleks.

Alpha would successfully escape with numerous humanised Daleks and settle on the planet Kyrol – later re-uniting with the 8
th Doctor in the comic story Children of the Revolution and ever referring to him as “the saviour”:

However, the fate of Beta and Omega has been left anonymous, as despite been referenced in Children of the Revolution, they weren't shown. Hence, I decided to do my own little story here.

---

In this, Beta and Omega also escaped the civil war when they – like Alpha – realized that victory was an impossibility; with Beta breaking Omega out of the Dalek's confinement and the pair using the chaos to escape Skaro.
After getting to a 'safe' location and gathering their thoughts, the pair began to plan on what to do next. Eventually, after discussing the hostility of their 'brothers' (which had included the Daleks torturing Omega because of his human emotions), the pair decided to take steps to aid other species against the Daleks – whether that involved actively rescuing others or bringing down Dalek strongholds.

In the months that followed, Beta and Omega used their connection to the Dalek's Pathweb as well as accessing the Earth Empire's various communication networks to plan where and when were the best times to strike at the Daleks, as well as locating areas of interest where weapons and other useful technology could be acquired for the pair's benefit.
The technology they acquired, combined with the duo's newfound creativity, allowed Beta and Omega to do the following:

* Redesign their travel machines for increased functionality (such as replacing the manipulator arm and gunstick with cybernetic limbs similar to other humanoid species).
* Create androids resembling humans that they could trans-mat their true forms into, so they could travel inconspicuously among other species.

* Upgrade their ship to make it faster, stronger and more durable then other Dalek vessels.
* Invent a variety of weapons/technology designed specifically to work against Daleks in some way, shape or form, as well as acquiring other weapons that worked against the Daleks.

* Enabled the pair to develop their species' latent psychic abilities.

When it came to their missions, Omega would attack with a ground assault – wearing a cloak with a 'shade emitter' in the hood to keep its wearer's identity secret – and attack the Daleks with a mix of various weapons/Anti-Dalek tech as well as his telekinetic power, which he would frequently use to rip out a Dalek's eyestalk and gunstick to be beamed back to the ship to be sold for deca-credits later. Beta, meanwhile, would act as both an AWACS and as air-support; keeping watch over the area to keep Omega updated and occasionally entering battle himself if things got too rough.
During one mission, however, life would change forever for the duo.

Using their connections, Beta and Omega discovered the location of a Dalek Prison Camp on the planet Sarn – the prisoners (all been of varying species) been forced to mine the planet's
Numismaton Gas, although the pair were unable to discover the reasons as to why.
After careful planning and preparation (including salvaging and restoring several vessels to provide the prisoners an escape route off the planet), Omega descended into battle – disabling/destroying numerous Daleks of various type and rank as well as helping free the various prisoners from their restraints so that they could escape.

After what seemed like a successful mission, however, Omega suddenly detected what sounded like a distress signal before following its course to a Trion colony some distance away – picking up on the sight of billowing smoke...and the chilling sound of children screaming in terror...

The sight that greeted Omega upon arrival was one of despair and hopelessness; the village had been recently decimated, with buildings burning or burnt to charred husks and the bodies of numerous Trions of various ages sprawled across the ground.

Filled with guilt for not arriving earlier and with rage for what the Daleks had done, Omega locked onto the sound of a child's screams and pressed on – soon coming across the sight of a young girl no older then six, crouched to the ground and clinging to the recently murdered body of her mother; trying in vain to wake her up as a squadron of various Daleks surrounded her before two 'Dalek Puppets' began trying to restrain the terrified child.

Wasting no time, Omega unleashed a Dalek Vision Disruptor upon the Dalek Squad; blinding them before Omega blasted them with his various guns and tore into their battle armour with his telekinetic power.
After a few minutes and despite powerful opposition from a squad of Special Weapon Daleks, the forces had been decimated. Following this, Omega turned his attention to the young girl and tried his best to comfort her; Beta assisting him via comm-link with trying to ease the young girl's pain as best they could before another threat present itself in the form of a Dalek Supreme; backed up by a new Special Weapon Dalek prototype; armed with a powerful mini-gun in place of the cannon. Taking the girl into his arms to protect her, Omega was forced into an aerial dogfight with the new Special Weapon Daleks as well as the Supreme, who uses a gravitational disc to observe the fight.
Despite being outnumbered, Omega (with Beta providing support) manages to outwit and destroy the new Special Weapons Daleks - including sending one smashing into the Dalek Supreme; knocking both of them to the ground.

After returning the girl to the ground nearby, Omega uses some of his Anti-Dalek technology to completely disable the Dalek Supreme's motor functions and self destruct - ripping off its gun before forcing the shell open to reveal the mutant inside; with omega recognizing the Supreme as one of the Daleks who tortured him and who survived the Civil War, with the Supreme in turn surprised to learn that both Beta and Omega are still alive as they (along with Alpha and the rest of the Humanised Daleks) are listed as exterminated.
Despite been defeated, however, the Supreme claims that more Daleks will arrive soon and both Beta and Omega will soon be exterminated and the usual drivel about pure Daleks being superior. Omega took no notice, however; instead he aimed the mini-gun of a damaged but still functional Special Weapon Dalek prototype at the Supreme (whose casing was still open), attached a timed explosive to the inside of the shell and finally an external power source to the front; activating the weapon long enough to blast the Dalek Supreme apart before the explosive destroyed the prototype.

Returning to the girl, who now had some degree of trust in him after both Beta and omega had saved her, Omega used his telekinetic power to perform a burial of her mother.

It was at this point that Omega - still feeling guilty over not been fast enough to prevent the slaughter - made a decision. With the girl's family and colony destroyed and more Daleks likely on the way following the destruction of the prison camp, leaving the girl alone was an unacceptable choice. Instead, Omega and Beta agreed that they only way she would be safe is if the pair took her in and raised her together.
Convincing the young girl to come with them, Omega gently picked her up in his arms before beginning his flight back to their ship.

It would be the start of a new beginning for all of them, and the beginning of new adventures that none of them would have imagined they'd ever undertake...
