Description

Sigmund Aloysius - know to his comrades as 'Ace' for his amazing aerial skills when fighting their enemies - was one of the Xelziak warriors who fought during the Dragon/Demon War in the Middle Ages. A well respected commander and friend of Archan'ra and his squad, the two warrior squads fought across numerous battlefields as one and on their own.
Sigmund's respect for dragons - as well as his love for Earth's human population with their diverse cultures and traditions - best manifested itself in the design of his armour for the war. This included fully operational metal wings that worked exactly like a dragons - giving him exceptional aerial maneuverability and allowing him to engage multiple airborne foes at once. On his helmet, he redesigned his visor to be like that of a knight while also fitting his helmet with a set of metal horns - similar to the 'ritual' helmets worn by Viking warriors.
His armour had had several modifications made to it as well using xelziak technology - with it been modified to provide the user with an extreme strength upgrade. Tests showed that - remarkably - the wearer could match the physical strength of a dragon in their full form, although this was only temporary as prolonged use would eventually overheat and destroy the cybernetics.
The most notable adaption to his armour, however, came from an otherworldly source. Traveling to Mintaka, Sigmund was able to purchase a type of red gemstone known as 'Mintakan Crimsonite'. It was an organic gemstone that was proven to be able to convert negative energies into positive, as well as acting as a booster for a person's natural psychic power.
Rapidly growing the crystal how he wanted it, Sigmund covered his armour in the miraculous material - including his computer gauntlets.

When Sigmund Aloysius and his comrades fought on the battlefield, his armour proved it's worth as the Xelziak warrior took multiple hits with no injury or damage; merely converting the negative energy to positive and redirecting it at his enemies to destroy them or his allies to aid them.
With the crystal enhancing his natural psychic power, Sigmund was able to conjure elemental attacks - most notably pyrokinetic and electrokinetic assaults against his foes. Combined with his people's warrior teachings and the assistance of his comrades and allies, Sigmund was a force to be reckoned with.
Of course, even the best armour in the world can't protect a warrior's heart and soul from the horrors of war - and for Sigmund and his allies, a day of tragedy lay ahead as they were given new orders; The Nightshades - a genetically created army forged from the energies of hell and the cosmic force of a dark dimension - had breached Dragonia's defenses and launched an attack on Kindred Springs. Without hesitation, Sigmund's squad set off to try and stop the nightshades.
Kindred Springs was an area in Dragonia where dragon mothers who were expecting or were looking after their newborns would stay. Considered safe from demonic attack, Sigmund, his squad and their dragon allies who had joined them soon found otherwise. Following Dragon Master Leo into battle, the dragon and xelziak forces fought hard to overcome the Nightshades. Their efforts would eventually prove fruitful, as Master Leo brought forth a magic-forged metal vase and had laid a trap for the nightmarish creatures. The trap succeeded, as the Nightshades were forced into their spiritual forms before been sucked into the vase - trapping them all for good.

For Leo, Sigmund and their allies, however, their victory was bittersweet: Kindred Springs was in ruins, with the bodies and blood of mothers and their young spread across the charred ground.
As the forces split up to search, Sigmund came across a mostly destroyed temple - hidden in an underground tunnel. As he attempted to enter it, however, he found it shielded with a powerful magic charm and was unable to pass.
Having learned some information about the power of dragons, Sigmund placed his hand on the sheild and spoke his name and allegiance - asking whoever had shielded the temple to scan his thoughts to prove he was telling the truth.
A few moments later, the energy shield parted slightly and Sigmund entered the temple remains. What he found inside shocked him beyond belief. In the center of the temple lay a single mother - her body showing the signs of having been stabbed by a Nightshade's barbed blade. Taking ff his helmet and kneeling down beside her, Sigmund tried to comfort her as he realised there was nothing he could do to aid her.
The mother, weakened and near death, told Sigmund to take her most loved possession - revealing in her arms the presence of her newly born daughter.
Small for a dragon's offspring, Sigmund tenderly picked up the baby in his arms - watching its natural chameleon defence kick in as the baby dragon's form became like that of a Xelziak child. With only a few breaths left, the mother made Sigmund promise that her child would have a good and happy life. Saying a prayer as she exhaled her last, Sigmund took the baby back with him to Master Leo and his allies.

A new problem would soon arise, however. Due to the baby been born after the mother herself was fighting the effects of the barbed blade's many poisons, the birth of the young girl had been a traumatic one - with her three siblings the mother had given birth to on that night all been stillborn.
Due to the trauma of the birth - amplified by the baby's natural psychic link with its mother - she had become 'stuck' in her xelziak form following her chameleon transformation. Due to the infinite potential of a child's mind and the fact their thinking is not restricted at that time by what is and isn't possible, Dragonia's mages and healers failed to reverse the change. For now, the baby was staying in her Xelziak form.
In the meeting that followed, the United Council tried to discuss what to do about this issue - with a range of numerous but varied potential solutions. Sigmund, however, remembered what the mother had made him promise and stepped forth to the United council with his own solution:
His plan was to take the young child to Xelziek, where she would become the adopted daughter of him and his wife. She would be educated and trained as a Xelziak warrior but also taught the way of dragons until her mental lock can be overcome - after which she would be able to rejoin her dragon family.
It was a risky plan, but the majority of the council voted in favor, with Master Takeda of Dragonia stating he would teach the young girl the way of dragons - adding that children from Dragonia had already been evacuated to Xelziek at the beginning of the war for safety.
With a positive result, Sigmund and his wife Cornelia officially adopted the baby girl - naming her Idona Farlena Aloysius, with her middle name been after her birth mother's first name - before taking her to Xelziek and the start of her new life.
The war would soon end, with Sigmund surviving and returning home both a hero and a father.

True to his word, Sigmund and Cornelia taught Idona how to become a Xelziak warrior - with her natural dragon prowess shining through despite her mental lock holding. After school, Idona would meet with Master Takeda to learn the way of dragons (which was described to her as been a 'magic class' for the time being, until she would be ready). Idona's natural abilities - despite her been unaware of her true heritage - along with her natural love of learning made her adoptive parents and teachers proud of her time after time, with her gaining the respect of her classmates. As Sigmund had promised, Idona was leading a happy and fulfilling life. Of course, in the back of their minds, Sigmund and Takeda knew the time would come when Idona must learn the truth.
When Idona had turned 17, Sigmund gave her permission to join her fellow students on a two week trip to Dragonia on a 'journey of discovery' to learn about Dragons, their culture and their history among other things.

Little did Sigmund or Takeda know, but the wheels of fate would soon be set in motion as Idona would not only discover her heritage, but a great destiny that lay before her...
