Inferno, the Welsh vigilante...

Inferno is a vigilante from Wales, dressing up in a costumed based on the welsh dragon to fight crime. He has tackled a variety of crimes from burglary and muggings to violence and vehicle crime.

As with many vigilantes, the true identity of inferno is unknown. However, his costume (seen from photographs taken of him) is shown to have a variety of technology at his disposal. It is believed that, despite lack of proof, Inferno can remotely access the numerous CCTV cameras around Wales as well as access any computer system. Although this has helped him catch numerous criminals, the Welsh police do view him as a potential security risk - with it only been his catching of numerous criminals red-handed and the lack of evidence to successfully conclude their belief - that ultimately keeps him from been arrested himself. Furthermore, Inferno's actions in stopping criminals, helping those in need and his appearance (due to the Welsh people's love of the red dragon) have gained wide positive support from the Welsh general public, which further protects him. There is even several Facebook pages dedicated to him, with hundreds of comments praising him for his efforts but with some criticizing his attempts to fight crime, telling him to let the police do their jobs..

Inferno carries numerous weaponry, with wrist blades and retractable claws on the gloves. These are more for scaring criminals into giving up rather then for actual combat although they can be used in that situation such as when dealing with violent criminals and vehicular crime. His gloves can also be used like tasers, for stunning criminals who turn violent. On his wrists are small tubes built into his gauntlets that can fire pepper spray, another police weapon used to contain criminals.
The armour he wears is resilient to many weapons including knives and bullets, while allowing easy movement and increasing his physical body strength. He does have a flamethrower mounted inside the mask he wears, but this is again more for scare then for actual combat.
His mask allows him to see in a wide variety of spectrums and vision modes, while his wings and jetpack allow him to easily fly and manoeuvre tightly at high speeds, while the tail he has is mechanical and used during fighting as well as for stability.

All in all, Inferno's job is quite a relaxed one as unlike in the movies and comics, crime is not as common, and the police aren't ringing him up for assistance. Furthermore, no Super-Villains have yet turned up.

My idea for this one actually came from watching a program on channel 4 some time back called Superheroes of Suburbia, in which it showed 3 people who quite literally put on costumes and try to fight crime in their area. However, it also showed the pitfalls of been a vigilante, such as needing the toilet when your chasing down a criminal or feeling disheartened when the police beat you to your target.
In this case, the vigilante is better prepared and doing a better job of it.
